What is mazemaze actually doing?

This is mazemaze: only some sentences turn into the language you're learning, and a tap brings the original back. How does that happen?
Cut the text into sentences
The long text on the page is snipped into pieces at each full stop.
Draw lots to pick sentences
If the slider says 30%, only 3 out of 10 sentences win the draw, at random.
The translator inside your computer does the work
